Privacy policy
Clipkin does not collect, transmit, sell, or share your personal data. The app has no account system, analytics, advertising, or backend server.
What stays on your device
Saved text, folders, tags, pinned status, appearance settings, and app preferences are stored in Clipkin's private app storage on your device. Clipkin does not send this information to us or to third parties.
Apple may include app data in your iCloud device backup when iCloud Backup is enabled. Apple controls that backup service under its own privacy terms.
Clipboard access
Clipkin reads text from the system clipboard only after you tap the Paste button. It does not monitor or record your clipboard in the background. Tapping a saved item writes that item back to the clipboard so you can paste it elsewhere.
Widget and keyboard
The optional widget and keyboard read the items you choose to make available through an Apple App Group stored on your device. By default, only pinned items are shared with the extensions. You can choose to show all items in Clipkin's settings.
The keyboard works as a basic typing keyboard without Full Access. Apple requires Full Access before the keyboard can read saved Clipkin items from the shared App Group. Clipkin does not use that permission for network access and does not transmit keyboard activity.
Backups and files
Clipkin creates a JSON backup only when you request one. You choose where to save or share it using the iOS share sheet. Clipkin reads a backup only after you select a file to restore. We never receive those files.
Deleting your data
You can delete individual items inside Clipkin. Deleting the app removes its local data from the device. A prior iCloud device backup may remain available according to your Apple backup settings.
